ITI Limited, India’s first post-Independence public sector undertaking and telecom manufacturing company, has secured Letters of Intent (LoIs) valued at ₹37.5 crore from the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Authority (BREDA). The company’s Naini Unit has received a significant portion of these LoIs. One LoI, worth ₹8.58 crore, is for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 2,800 solar street light systems from DPRO Katihar. This project, under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Solar Street Light Yojana, includes a comprehensive maintenance contract (CMC) for five years and features a remote monitoring system (RMS).

Another LoI awarded to ITI’s Naini Unit, amounting to ₹28.94 crore, covers the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 9,440 solar street light systems, also from DPRO Katihar and under the same Yojana. This project likewise includes a five-year CMC and RMS.

These installations will be carried out under the supervision of BREDA. The key components of the solar street light systems include solar PV modules, solar batteries, LED luminaires, mounting structures, and balance of system (BOS).
