La Chorrera, Panama Oeste – Cervecería Nacional, a subsidiary of AB InBev, the world’s largest beer manufacturer, has announced the installation of a solar power plant at its La Chorrera distribution center. This initiative is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to transition to renewable energy sources.

The new solar installation, executed by Celsia, consists of 251 solar panels, each with a capacity of 560 W, totaling 140 kWp. The plant is expected to generate 192,039 kWh of electricity annually.

This is the second distribution center of Cervecería Nacional to operate on solar energy, following the company’s strategic plan to convert nine out of its ten centers in Panama to solar power.

In 2022, Cervecería Nacional committed to a $1.3 million investment to install photovoltaic systems in five of its distribution centers: Las Sabanas, La Chorrera, San Cristóbal, Chitré, and Santiago. This move underscores the company’s dedication to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.
