The General Directorate of Environmental Impact and Risk of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has announced that Plutón Solar has submitted plans for the Plutón Solar Photovoltaic Park for environmental impact assessment.
The ambitious project aims to construct, operate, and maintain a solar power plant with a maximum net capacity of 172 MW, a gross capacity of 177.24 MW in alternating current, and a peak power of 230.4 MW in direct current. It will feature 354,480 photovoltaic panels, 30 inverters, and 17 battery storage modules totaling 8.9 MWh capacity.
Spanning 856 hectares in the municipalities of San Juan Evangelista and Sayula de Alemán, Veracruz, the solar park will feed its generated energy into the national electrical system through a Federal Electricity Commission substation.
Plutón Solar’s proposal represents a significant renewable energy initiative for the region, aiming to bolster energy generation while adhering to environmental regulations and sustainability principles.
