Vikram Solar Signs 1 GW Domestic Solar Cell Supply Deal with Avaada Electro

Indian solar module manufacturer Vikram Solar has entered into a domestic cell supply agreement with Avaada Electro to procure 1 GW of domestically manufactured solar cells, reinforcing its footprint in India’s expanding Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) segment.

Under the terms of the agreement, Avaada Electro will supply ALMM-compliant, half-cut N-Type G12R TOPCon solar cells to power Vikram Solar’s module manufacturing operations. Product deliveries are scheduled to begin in September 2026, aiming to ensure operational continuity and supply consistency for domestic projects.

The procurement strategy builds on several cell supply agreements Vikram Solar secured earlier this year to diversify its component sourcing network. The deal also bridges the company’s interim supply needs ahead of its major backward integration project—a 9 GW high-efficiency solar cell manufacturing facility set to commission in the fourth quarter of FY27.
