In a significant boost to the renewable energy sector, SJVN Limited has inaugurated India’s largest floating solar park with its 90 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project. This landmark achievement underscores the critical role of renewable energy in addressing the global need for sustainable solutions, expanding SJVN’s total installed capacity to 2,466.50 MW.

Located in the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district, this project stands out as the largest of its kind in India and one of the most notable floating solar initiatives in Central and North India. The development, executed by SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), marks an important step in diversifying energy sources and enhancing the use of renewable resources.

With an investment of ₹646.20 crores, the Omkareshwar project is projected to generate 196.5 million units of energy in its first year, reaching a cumulative total of 4,629.3 million units over its 25-year lifespan. This substantial energy production is expected to increase SJVN’s annual revenue by approximately ₹64 crores, demonstrating the financial viability of investing in renewable technologies.
