SPCG Chairperson Dr. Wandee Kuncharayakong Chulcharoen Awarded Honorary Doctorate for Pioneering Solar Energy in Thailand

Dr. Wandee Kuncharayakong Chulcharoen, Chairperson of SPCG, was honoured by the Chiang Mai Rajabhat University Council to confer an honorary doctorate degree in Community Energy and Environment.

From the work of Dr. Wandee Kuncharayakong Chulcharoen, who was the first pioneer in the production of solar power for communities in Thailand, attended the graduation ceremony to receive honours and certificates together with the doctoral, master’s, and graduates who will receive their degrees on October 16, 2024, at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University.

On this occasion, Dr. Sawang Phuphatthanavibul, President of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University Council, expressed his congratulations to Dr. Wandee Kuncharayakong Chulcharoen, Honorary Graduate, Master’s Degree and all Graduates on their graduation and wished them all success in their careers by adhering to the principle of honesty and integrity in any future careers for the benefit of their own lives and the country.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chatri Maneekosol, President of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, expressed his congratulations to all honorary graduates, master’s graduates, and graduates who graduated from Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, asking them to use their knowledge and skills to develop themselves and the country for stability and sustainability.

Dr. Wandee Kuncharayakong Juljarern expressed her gratitude to the President and the Board of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University for considering the award of an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Community Energy and Environment as the first pioneer in the solar power business in Thailand to improve the quality of life of people living in areas without electricity and successfully developing a large-scale community solar power generation organization connected to the transmission line for the first time in Thailand, which resulted in receiving an award and being recognized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change as a leading woman in clean energy development ( Leading a Woman Powered Solar Energy Transformation) in 2014 in Lima, Peru.

Dr. Wandee congratulated all masters, doctorates and graduates on the occasion of graduation and expressed her pride with everyone with the meaning of the institute, which is those who are close to the King. In addition, the institute has received the greatest royal grace from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, who granted the name from Teachers’ College to Rajabhat Institute and granted the royal seal to be the university seal, which is a great blessing for students and lecturers.

Dr. Wandee said that she has adopted the royal speech of King Rama IX โ€œUnderstand, Reach, Developโ€ as the principle in her work, which has led to the success of all her work. She has also adopted the royal speech of King Rama X, which he gave to his royal servants, โ€œThe country is stable, the people are happy, correct the wrongdoings, and continue the royal intentions under the philosophy of the sufficiency economy.โ€

When doing any work, if you find anything wrong, don’t be afraid to fix it. The faster you fix it, the faster you will succeed. Also, to succeed in any work, we must have a positive attitude, have the knowledge and ability to do it, and finally, we must be diligent. Then we will definitely succeed.
