Renewable Energy Milestone: Saudi Power Procurement Company Signs Major Solar Energy Agreements

In a significant development for renewable energy, the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) has inked power purchase agreements for three solar energy projects as part of the fifth phase of the National Renewable Energy Program. The total capacity of these projects amounts to 1,700 megawatts.

The signing ceremony was attended by Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, and HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy. The event took place during the Saudi-French Investment Forum in Riyadh, a platform aimed at strengthening bilateral investments and collaborations.

This strategic initiative underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to diversifying its energy mix and advancing its renewable energy ambitions under the Vision 2030 framework.
