The Energy Regulatory Commission’s Market Operations Service (ERC-MOS) conducted an information session on the net-metering policy and its benefits at the National Bioenergy Research and Innovation Center Auditorium in Paoay, Ilocos Norte. The initiative aims to encourage more Filipinos to adopt solar energy through the net-metering program.
MOS Director Sharon O. Montaรฑer led the session, providing key insights into the concepts and policies governing the implementation of net metering for solar homeowners in Ilocos Norte.
According to ERC data, as of December 31, 2024, there are 95 qualified end-users in Ilocos Norte, contributing a total capacity of 737.08 kilowatt-peak (kWp) to the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative. The ERC continues to conduct information and education campaigns to promote wider participation in the program, supporting the countryโs transition toward sustainable and renewable energy.
