NTPC Honored With Forward Faster Sustainability Award 2025 For Water Resilience

NTPC Ltd., Indiaโ€™s largest integrated power utility, has received the Forward Faster Sustainability Award 2025 in the Water Resilience category. The award was presented by the UN Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI) at a ceremony in Chennai. The award was accepted by Harekrushna Dash, ED (Sustainability, Environment & Ash), and K Karthikeyan, AGM (Environment & Sustainability), in recognition of NTPCโ€™s efforts in water conservation and sustainable water management.

The Forward Faster Sustainability Awards acknowledge organizations in India that have made significant progress in sustainability and corporate responsibility, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This recognition reinforces NTPCโ€™s commitment to sustainable operations and environmental responsibility. NTPC supplies one-fourth of Indiaโ€™s power needs, with an installed capacity of over 77 GW. It is working on an additional 29.5 GW, including 9.6 GW of renewable energy, and aims to achieve 60 GW of renewable capacity by 2032.

With a diverse portfolio that includes thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power, NTPC is dedicated to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity. The company is also expanding into new areas such as e-mobility, battery storage, pumped hydro storage, waste-to-energy, nuclear power, and green hydrogen, while participating in power distribution projects in Union Territories. NTPC remains committed to innovation and clean energy solutions to support Indiaโ€™s transition to a sustainable future.
