Juniper Green Energy has announced the early commissioning of its 145.99 MWp (100 MW AC) solar power project located in Chapalgaon, Maharashtra. The plant began operations on May 22, 2025, well ahead of its scheduled commercial operation date. This marks a significant achievement, as the project was completed 19 months earlier than originally planned. The solar project will supply power to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
Ankush Malik, CEO, Juniper Green Energy, said in a statement, โThis milestone is a testament to Juniper Green Energyโs ability to execute renewable energy projects at scale and speed. Our strategy of timely development enables us to stay ahead of timelines and deliver clean energy to the grid. Early land acquisition and site development, comprehensive technical and environmental due diligence, grid connection permits, transmission line readiness and transmission infrastructure ensures a seamless process and enables our success.โ
Notably, the commissioning took place just 2.5 months after the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was signed on March 7, 2025. The project is now operating at its full capacity of 145.99 MWp right from the start. This early completion reflects Juniper Green Energyโs efficient project management and commitment to supporting Indiaโs renewable energy targets. By accelerating timelines and maintaining quality, the company continues to contribute to strengthening the countryโs power grid and advancing its clean energy initiatives.
