Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Managing Director and CEO HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer held a high-level meeting with Fadel Al Ali, Chairman of Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Group, to explore enhanced cooperation in renewable energy, sustainability and smart infrastructure solutions. The meeting underscores a shared commitment to supporting Dubai’s and the UAE’s long-term strategies for clean energy and net-zero emissions.

Discussions focused on integrating DEWA’s advanced clean energy technologies and smart grid solutions across Majid Al Futtaim’s regional operations to optimise energy and water consumption. Key areas included the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics to accelerate sustainability outcomes.

Al Tayer highlighted DEWA’s strategic initiatives aimed at diversifying Dubai’s energy mix and reducing carbon emissions in alignment with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which target 100% clean energy generation by 2050. He also emphasised the role of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world’s largest single-site solar park, which is expected to reach 8,000MW of capacity by 2030 under the independent power producer model.
