In a defining milestone for India’s renewable energy landscape, InSolare Energy Limited has been awarded the 600 MW / 1,200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) contract by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI). Among SECI’s largest standalone BESS projects to date, this achievement highlights InSolare’s expanding leadership in advanced clean energy infrastructure and innovation.
The project, located in Kolimigundla, Nandyal District, Andhra Pradesh, and connected to the Kurnool-3 substation under the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS), includes design, engineering, civil works, installation, testing, commissioning, and five years of comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M). It will play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s renewable reliability and grid stability as part of SECI’s long-term clean energy roadmap.
This landmark award represents a significant leap forward in InSolare’s growth journey, reinforcing its strategic expansion across the entire clean energy value chain—from solar EPC and advanced energy storage to module manufacturing, green hydrogen, and green ammonia.
Founded in 2008 with a vision to drive India’s solar revolution, InSolare Energy has spent over 16 years at the forefront of renewable innovation. The company has delivered several industry firsts, including India’s first 5 MW solar tracker project in 2011 and Asia’s largest canal-top solar installation—the 15 MW Narmada Canal Top project in Gujarat in 2017.
With an EPC portfolio exceeding 1 GW across 22 states, InSolare continues to set new benchmarks in technology, execution, and sustainability. Its recent ventures into TOPCon module manufacturing, electrolyser development, and green hydrogen production mark its transformation into a full-stack clean energy infrastructure provider, capable of delivering integrated, end-to-end solutions for a sustainable future.
“Addressing climate change has been our north star and we have always leaned on to deliver solutions that stand apart in Quality and Results” said Dr. Sunit Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director, InSolare Energy Limited. “This BESS project is another engineering milestone and promises to make India’s clean energy dependable, dispatchable, and scalable. As we expand into energy storage, we’re ensuring that sustainability and reliability evolve together.”
