GoodWe has announced that its Guangde manufacturing facility has been included in China’s first list of National Zero-Carbon Industrial Parks, following the Guangde Economic Development Zone’s selection under the national initiative.
The list was officially released on 26 December 2025 and aims to establish benchmark zero-carbon industrial parks across China. GoodWe’s Guangde facility, located in Anhui Province and the company’s largest production base worldwide, contributed to the development zone’s inclusion through its advanced clean energy and carbon reduction practices.
The zero-carbon industrial park model is designed to demonstrate integrated new energy systems, combining distributed energy generation, energy storage, microgrids, green power trading, and coordinated generation–grid–load–storage operations supported by artificial intelligence and carbon management systems. GoodWe stated that its operational strategy closely aligns with these national zero-carbon objectives.
At the Guangde site, GoodWe has deployed a 4.7 MW photovoltaic power system that generates around 4.8 million kWh of renewable electricity annually, alongside a 5,210 kWh energy storage system. The facility operates an intelligent microgrid connected to the WE Smart Energy Management Platform, enabling real-time coordination of solar generation, battery storage, electric vehicle charging, and on-site electricity consumption.
As of mid-2025, green electricity accounted for 41 per cent of the total energy consumed at the Guangde industrial park. This progress places the facility on track to reach peak carbon emissions by 2027 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. The site is also exploring green power trading mechanisms and virtual power plant operations to convert carbon reduction efforts into measurable environmental and economic benefits.
The latest recognition builds on GoodWe’s earlier inclusion in Anhui Province’s Zero-Carbon Industrial Park initiative in 2024, further underscoring the company’s role in advancing China’s industrial energy transition and low-carbon manufacturing ambitions.
