Ddev Plastiks Industries Limited took a significant step into the renewable energy sector by approving a plan to enter the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) market. This strategic move comes as part of the company’s effort to support India’s transition to clean energy. Renewable energy sources like solar and wind are inherently intermittent, and BESS solutions are essential to ensure grid stability and manage fluctuations in power generation. By entering this market, Ddev Plastiks aims to provide reliable energy storage solutions to complement the growing renewable energy infrastructure in the country.

The company’s decision is backed by promising market growth projections. Globally, the BESS market is expected to grow from USD 56.29 billion in 2024 to USD 186.90 billion by 2030, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of over 22%. In India, the energy storage market is projected to reach USD 32 billion with a total capacity of 208 GWh by 2030. These figures highlight a strong demand for storage technologies, making this an opportune moment for Ddev Plastiks to expand its business.

To capitalize on these opportunities, the company plans a multi-phase manufacturing program. Phase 1 will involve setting up a 5 GWh BESS manufacturing facility with an estimated investment of ₹150-200 crores. The facility is expected to be operational in the 2026-27 financial year, with the new business segment contributing to the company’s revenue starting in the second half of FY 2026-27. The manufacturing setup will cater to a diverse client base, including utilities, commercial and industrial establishments, and residential users.

A key part of this initiative is the establishment of a dedicated Research & Development (R&D) Center. This center will focus on advanced battery technologies and innovative storage solutions, helping the company strengthen its technological capabilities. By fostering innovation, Ddev Plastiks aims to improve sustainability, efficiency, and performance while staying competitive in an evolving global energy market. This move aligns with the company’s broader goal of supporting the decarbonization of the energy sector and contributing to India’s clean energy transition.
