President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today held talks with His Excellency Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, focusing on opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation and further strengthen the UAE-Italy strategic partnership.
The discussions, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi during President Mattarellaโs state visit, centered on advancing prosperity and development for both nations. Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the Italian President and expressed appreciation for his commitment to fostering strong UAE-Italy relations.
President Mattarella highlighted his pleasure at visiting the UAE, emphasizing the strategic relationship built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to development and prosperity.
Focus Areas of Cooperation
The two leaders reviewed a broad range of cooperation areas, including:
-Economy and investment
-Advanced technology and artificial intelligence
-Renewable energy and sustainability
-Cultural exchange
They also discussed regional and international issues, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, diplomatic solutions to conflicts, and promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond.
Sheikh Mohamed underlined that UAE-Italy relations have steadily progressed since their establishment in 1971, noting the importance of cultural collaboration as a bridge for mutual understanding and the promotion of shared values.
Following the talks, Sheikh Mohamed hosted a luncheon in honour of President Mattarella and his delegation.
Official Reception
President Mattarella received an official reception upon arrival at Qasr Al Shati, where he was welcomed by Sheikh Mohamed, an honour guard, and a cavalry procession escorting his motorcade. The Italian President also greeted Sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials present for the occasion.
The talks were attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; ministers, senior officials, and the Italian delegation.
