Under the agreement, on-site solar power plants will be installed across PureHealth’s healthcare facilities and are expected to generate approximately 23.5 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity annually. The project is projected to reduce carbon emissions by around 7,200 metric tons per year, supporting the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy.

Long-Term Sustainability and Cost Efficiency

The master lease structure is designed to enhance operational efficiency, improve long-term cost predictability, and integrate sustainability into asset planning. The solar leasing model enables PureHealth to access clean energy without upfront capital expenditure, while advancing its Net Zero by 2040 ambition.

Leya Al Damani, Chief Sustainability Officer at PureHealth, said the partnership reflects the group’s responsibility to reduce the environmental footprint of healthcare operations while ensuring uninterrupted, high-quality patient care. She noted that the initiative forms a key component of the company’s Smart Facilities and Operations strategy, aimed at reducing reliance on fossil fuels and strengthening energy resilience.

Multi-Site Solar Deployment

Under the agreement, Yellow Door Energy will finance, design, construct, commission, operate and maintain the solar installations across PureHealth’s UAE facilities.

Jeremy Crane, Group CEO of Yellow Door Energy, said the partnership supports both environmental sustainability and long-term operational resilience in the healthcare sector. He added that the company’s experience in delivering multi-site clean energy solutions under master lease agreements positions it to support PureHealth’s decarbonisation targets.

Yellow Door Energy stated that its operating portfolio has generated more than 1.1 terawatt-hours of clean electricity to date across the Middle East and South Africa.

The partnership underscores a broader trend of integrating renewable energy into critical infrastructure sectors, combining clean power generation with operational efficiency to support national climate goals and resilient healthcare systems in the UAE.
