NONECO Partners with AboitizPower for 30 MW Solar and Baseload Power Deal, Strengthening Energy Reliability Across Expanded Service Areas

The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NONECO) has signed a 30-megawatt (MW) power supply agreement with Aboitiz Power Corporation, through Aboitiz Solar Power Inc. (ASPI) and GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC).

Following a successful Competitive Selection Process, AboitizPower will deliver a diversified energy mix to NONECO, including 10 MW of mid-merit solar supply from ASPI and 20 MW of baseload power from GMEC, aimed at meeting the cooperativeโ€™s core demand while stabilizing electricity costs and reliability across its service area.

โ€œThe steady supply at competitive rates ensures continuous support for local growth and enhanced quality of life as our region evolves, fostering a prosperous future for the businesses and communities we serve,โ€ said Nicolas U. Camara, NONECO Board President.

Engr. Wilbe B. Bilbao, NONECO General Manager, added, โ€œWe are excited about this long-term deal as it aligns with our commitment to addressing unique power requirements across all service areas.โ€

NONECO serves the municipalities of Victorias, Manapla, and Cadiz, with expanded coverage now including Sagay, Escalante, San Carlos, and the towns of Toboso, E.B. Magalona, and Calatrava.

The agreement is expected to enhance energy stability and support economic growth across Northern Negros, providing a reliable foundation for both residential and commercial electricity demand.
