Blueleaf Energy, a leading pan-Asian renewable energy platform owned by a fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management, has successfully commissioned its flagship 300-megawatt peak (MWp) Pachora Hybrid Power Project in Madhya Pradesh, India.

The utility-scale hybrid project, valued at approximately ₹1,900 crores ($230 million USD), combines wind and solar power and sets a new benchmark in India with its innovative commercialization model. The project is expected to generate nearly 600 million units (MU) of clean electricity annually—enough to power over 550,000 households—which will be sold through a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a leading Indian power trader.

In addition, the project provides environmental attributes to a large international technology company under a separate 15-year International Renewable Energy Credits (I-RECs) contract, enhancing the project’s bankability. The Pachora Hybrid Power Project comprises 35 wind turbines, a multi-site solar farm, and a dedicated pooling substation, spread across 40 sites covering 347 hectares, and is projected to offset approximately 550 kilotons of CO2 annually, equivalent to removing nearly 130,000 cars from the road.

Raghuram Natarajan, CEO of Blueleaf Energy, said, “The commissioning of the Pachora Hybrid Power Project demonstrates our ability to deliver complex, large-scale hybrid solutions that address renewable energy intermittency. This project supports India’s 500 GW renewable target and highlights the potential of innovative, cost-effective hybrid models to create a decarbonized and resilient grid.”

Pratyush Thakur, Country Head for Blueleaf Energy in India, added, “Beyond technical milestones, this project reflects our commitment to long-term prosperity in host communities. Through our Blueleaf CARES program, we are delivering environmental stewardship, health, and skilling initiatives in Madhya Pradesh, and expanding similar initiatives in Rajasthan.”

Despite weather challenges and global supply chain pressures in 2025, the Pachora project commenced operations in December 2025 and is now operating at full capacity. Blueleaf Energy is exploring further expansion of the plant and additional renewable energy projects in the region.

The company is also commissioning solar farms within its Rajasthan Solar Portfolio, which achieved financial close in October 2025 and is on track for full delivery later in 2026.
