Construction has commenced on a 48 MW solar power project in Lopburi, developed by Minebea Super Solar Power Ltd.—a joint venture between MinebeaMitsumi and Super Energy. The project marks a significant milestone in advancing industrial-scale clean energy deployment in Southeast Asia.

The development forms part of a broader photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) portfolio, which also includes a 104 MW / 129 MWh project in Bang Pa-in. Together, these installations represent one of the region’s largest direct power supply solar initiatives, supporting MinebeaMitsumi’s long-term operational roadmap in Thailand.

Selected under Japan’s Fiscal Year 2025 Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), the project is positioned as a model for cross-border decarbonization efforts. Hanersun has been appointed as the module supplier, delivering its HITOUCH 6N 715 W bifacial modules based on advanced n-type technology. These modules are designed to withstand Thailand’s hot and humid climate, offering enhanced durability, anti-PID performance, and optimized energy yield to reduce the levelized cost of energy (LCOE).

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by senior representatives from Hanersun and the project stakeholders. Sunny Sun, Vice President of Hanersun, highlighted Thailand’s strategic importance in the company’s global expansion and emphasized the role of its n-type technology in supporting energy autonomy and carbon neutrality goals.

Suchanya Nanumchio, Vice President of Business Development at Minebea Super Solar Power, noted that Hanersun’s strong market reputation and high-performance modules align with the project’s industrial requirements. She added that the 48 MW installation will play a key role in optimizing the company’s energy mix and advancing its sustainability agenda.

The project underscores a broader shift among global manufacturers toward renewable energy integration, with Hanersun continuing to expand its international presence through strategic partnerships aimed at accelerating the transition to a net-zero future.
