Tata Power-DDL is set to participate in the upcoming National Lok Adalat on May 9, 2026, offering consumers an opportunity for on-the-spot settlement of electricity theft cases and dues related to disconnected power connections. The initiative is being organized in association with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority and aims to help consumers resolve pending disputes through an amicable legal process.

The National Lok Adalat will be conducted from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Permanent Lok Adalat-I, located near Venkateshwar Global School. Consumers residing in North Delhi who are facing issues related to electricity theft bills or disconnected connections can participate in the proceedings and seek immediate resolution of their cases.

According to the utility company, consumers willing to participate are encouraged to register through the helpline number 19124. For matters related to theft bills, consumers can contact the company through email support, while issues regarding disconnected connections can also be addressed separately through customer care communication channels. Registered litigants are required to carry a valid photo identity proof along with copies of the relevant theft bill or disconnected connection bill during the proceedings.

Apart from registered participants, consumers who want to settle disputed electricity bills can also directly visit the Lok Adalat venue on a walk-in basis by carrying their Aadhaar card and a copy of the concerned bill. The settlement process is expected to provide relief to consumers while also reducing the burden of prolonged legal proceedings.

Tata Power-DDL stated that consumers who fail to take advantage of the settlement opportunity may face criminal or civil proceedings under the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003, and applicable DERC regulations. To make payments convenient, the company will facilitate multiple payment modes, including cash, cheque, demand draft, credit card, debit card, and online payment options.

The utility is also conducting awareness campaigns through SMS, social media, and other communication channels to encourage maximum consumer participation in the National Lok Adalat.
