British Solar Renewables (BSR) has acquired Berden Solar Farm, a consented and ready-to-build solar project located near Bishopโs Stortford in Essex, strengthening its renewable energy portfolio in the UK.
Berden Solar Farm is a 56 MWp ground-mounted solar project spread across approximately 177 acres of land. Once operational, the facility is expected to generate nearly 60 GWh of clean electricity annually while continuing to support agricultural activities on the site.
The project has secured a 20-year Contract for Difference (CfD) under Allocation Round 7, providing long-term revenue certainty. With a grid connection scheduled for 2027, the project is positioned as a near-term addition to the UKโs clean energy infrastructure.
Commenting on the acquisition, Tim Humpage, Chief Executive Officer of British Solar Renewables, said the company is pleased to add Berden Solar Farm to its portfolio, describing it as a high-quality project that aligns with BSRโs strategy of delivering renewable energy infrastructure to support the UKโs clean energy transition.
The acquisition reflects continued investment activity in the UK renewable energy sector as developers expand utility-scale solar capacity to support national decarbonisation and energy security goals.
