Sunkind India Limited has secured long-term supply access to 1 GW of TOPCon G12R DCR solar cells through FY28, strengthening its position within Indiaโ€™s rapidly evolving domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem and supporting its long-term expansion strategy.

The development comes ahead of the mandatory implementation of ALMM List-II from June 1, 2026, under which government-backed solar projects in India will require the use of domestically approved solar cells. The move is expected to significantly increase demand for domestically manufactured DCR-compliant solar components across utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) projects.

With this long-term supply arrangement, Sunkind aims to reinforce its manufacturing capabilities and project execution roadmap while improving supply-chain visibility during a critical phase of growth for Indiaโ€™s renewable energy sector.

Commenting on the development, Hanish Gupta, Founder and Managing Director of Sunkind India Limited, said the company had entered into a strategic long-term partnership with one of Indiaโ€™s leading solar manufacturers to secure high-efficiency TOPCon G12R DCR solar cells.

He noted that the arrangement would provide stronger supply stability and manufacturing visibility as demand for domestically compliant solar solutions accelerates following the implementation of ALMM List-II. He further added that Sunkindโ€™s upcoming in-house solar PV module manufacturing facility, scheduled for commissioning this month, would strengthen the companyโ€™s ability to deliver domestically compliant solutions across open-access, C&I, and utility-scale solar projects.

According to Gupta, the partnership reflects a broader shift within Indiaโ€™s solar sector, where long-term manufacturing alignment, supply-chain security, and domestic capacity creation are becoming increasingly important as the industry scales rapidly.

Virpal Yadav, COO of Sunkind India Limited and Director of Sunkind Photovoltaics Private Limited, stated that the commissioning of the companyโ€™s fully automated solar PV module manufacturing line marks a significant milestone in Sunkindโ€™s growth trajectory.

He said the facility has been designed for manufacturing high-efficiency DCR TOPCon modules ranging from 600Wp to 630Wp, with a strong emphasis on automation, precision engineering, quality consistency, and high-volume production readiness. Yadav added that the supply arrangement would ensure reliable access to domestically manufactured solar cells and further strengthen the companyโ€™s manufacturing ecosystem ahead of ALMM List-II implementation.

Sunkind India has executed multiple solar projects across industrial rooftops, ground-mounted systems, and open-access models, while several additional projects are currently under execution across various Indian states.

The company is targeting revenues exceeding โ‚น1000 crore by FY27 as it continues to expand across EPC services, renewable energy solutions, manufacturing, and energy infrastructure. Over the past few years, Sunkind has diversified beyond EPC operations into solar structures, renewable asset management, and integrated clean energy solutions, strengthening its presence across the solar value chain.

The company currently serves clients across multiple industry sectors including steel, textiles, food processing, manufacturing, infrastructure, packaging, and other commercial and industrial segments, with an expanding project footprint across India.

Indiaโ€™s solar industry is witnessing accelerated growth driven by strong policy support, domestic manufacturing expansion, increasing energy demand, and rising adoption of renewable energy solutions across utility-scale and C&I segments.
