Nagaland Invites Bids For 1.65 MW Rooftop Solar Installations In Village Council Halls

The Department of Power, Government of Nagaland, has invited online bids for the installation of on-grid rooftop solar systems in village council halls across the state. The project is being implemented under the Chief Minister’s Community Solar Partnership Initiative, which is a part of the Nagaland Solar Mission. The tender covers a total rooftop solar capacity of 1.65 MW and aims to strengthen renewable energy infrastructure at the village level by utilizing community buildings for clean energy generation.

According to the official notice issued by Er. R. Lobosang Jamir, Chief Engineer (D&R) and Team Leader of the Nagaland Solar Mission, only eligible and empaneled vendors are allowed to participate in the bidding process. The tender is open exclusively to state-empaneled rooftop solar vendors and multi-state vendors who have been specifically empaneled for Nagaland.

Interested bidders can download the Request for Bids (RFB) documents from the official e-tendering portal of the state government. The bidding documents are also available in soft copy form from the Office of the Chief Engineer (D&R), located on the second floor of Electricity House on A.G. Road in Kohima.

To obtain the tender documents physically, bidders must pay a non-refundable tender fee of Rs. 5,000. The payment is required to be made through an account payee demand draft drawn in favor of “Nagaland Solar Mission NSM Department of Power.” After submitting the demand draft, bidders will receive a payment receipt from the department.

The notice further states that submission of this receipt in a sealed fee envelope is mandatory as part of the bid submission process. Failure to include the receipt may lead to disqualification of the bid. The tender notice was officially issued and signed from Kohima, marking another step in Nagaland’s efforts to expand solar energy adoption and promote sustainable development in rural communities across the state.
