Titan Egypt and SolarizEgypt have entered into a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to develop an 11.45 MW solar power plant that will supply clean electricity to the Beni Suef Cement Company, a subsidiary of Titan Egypt. The project represents an important step toward reducing carbon emissions in the cement industry, which has traditionally been one of the most energy-intensive and carbon-heavy industrial sectors.
Under the agreement, SolarizEgypt will take full responsibility for financing, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining the solar facility. This arrangement allows Titan Egypt to benefit from renewable energy without making any upfront capital investment. The company will receive a stable supply of clean electricity while also securing predictable energy costs over the next 25 years.
The solar power plant is expected to provide a significant portion of the electricity required for the operations of the Beni Suef Cement Company. By integrating renewable energy into its production processes, Titan Egypt aims to reduce its environmental impact and support broader sustainability objectives. The initiative is also expected to help the company prepare for future environmental regulations and potential carbon pricing mechanisms.
Company officials highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership. Amr Reda, CEO of Titan Egypt, described the agreement as a major milestone in the company’s efforts to build a more sustainable industrial sector while creating long-term value for stakeholders. He emphasized that the project aligns with the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and operational efficiency.
Mohamed El-Fouly, Chief Commercial Officer at SolarizEgypt, stated that the project demonstrates the increasing role of renewable energy in supporting industrial development. He noted that the collaboration serves as an example of how clean energy solutions can be successfully integrated into heavy industries through partnerships between energy providers and manufacturing companies.
The project also supports Egypt’s broader clean energy ambitions and its efforts to strengthen its position as a regional hub for green economic growth. By combining renewable energy technology with industrial manufacturing, the initiative highlights the growing adoption of sustainable business practices across the country. The agreement is expected to encourage similar projects in other energy-intensive industries and further accelerate the transition toward a low-carbon economy.
