LOF International Dairy Factory Launches 5 MWp Rooftop Solar Project to Advance ESG and Renewable Energy Goals

LOF International Dairy Factory has begun implementing a 5 MWp rooftop solar power project as part of its strategy to increase renewable energy use, reduce operating costs, and advance its environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives.

The project is being developed in collaboration with Vietnam-Singapore Smart Energy Solutions Joint Stock Company (VSSES), while SolarBK has been appointed as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor. SolarBK will be responsible for the project’s technical design, equipment supply, construction, testing and commissioning.

According to the company, the first phase of the project is expected to generate approximately 3.82 million kWh of clean electricity annually, reducing carbon emissions by around 2,515 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent each year. Over the system’s estimated 25-year operational life, it is projected to produce more than 82 million kWh of renewable electricity and avoid approximately 54,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

Installed on the factory’s rooftop, the solar system is expected to increase the share of renewable electricity used in manufacturing operations while supporting the company’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency.

LOF said the project reflects its commitment to integrating renewable energy into industrial operations as part of its broader sustainability strategy. The company noted that the initiative aligns with its approach to ESG by combining environmental benefits with operational efficiency and long-term business value.

Upon completion of its planned 5 MWp capacity, the rooftop solar installation is expected to further increase the use of clean electricity in production, supporting LOF’s decarbonisation efforts and contributing to its long-term ESG and sustainability targets.
