Ceigall India Limited has commissioned an additional 5 MW solar power plant through its wholly owned subsidiary, Ceigall Green Energy MH2 Limited, at Ranjangaon Deshmukh in Kopargaon Taluka, Ahilyanagar district, Maharashtra.
With the commissioning of the latest unit, the subsidiary’s operational solar capacity at the site has increased to 10 MW. The first 5 MW unit at the site was commissioned earlier, ahead of its scheduled timeline, making the project eligible for an early-commissioning incentive under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0).
The commissioned capacity is connected to the 33/11 kV Ranjangaon substation of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), with the generated power being supplied to MSEDCL.
The 10 MW operational capacity forms part of a larger 147 MW solar power project being developed and executed by Ceigall Green Energy MH2 Limited under MSKVY 2.0, a Government of Maharashtra initiative aimed at providing decentralised daytime solar power to agricultural feeders across the state.
Commenting on the development, Ramneek Sehgal, Chairman and Managing Director, Ceigall India Limited, said the commissioning of the additional capacity ahead of schedule reflects the company’s project execution capabilities. He added that the company is expanding its renewable energy portfolio while supporting Maharashtra’s clean energy objectives.
Ceigall India said it plans to further expand its presence in renewable energy, including utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, as part of its broader infrastructure development strategy.
