TGREDCO Issues 800 MW Wind Power Tender Across India In Telangana

The Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TGREDCO), acting on behalf of Telangana distribution companies (TGDISCOMs), has invited bids for the development of 800 MW of grid-connected wind power projects across India. The tender aims to select Renewable Energy Power Developers through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, enabling the procurement of wind power for a long-term period.

TGREDCO issued the Request for Selection (RfS) document on October 13, 2026, under tender search code TGREDCO-2026-TN000005 on the ISN-ETS electronic tendering platform. The selected developers will be responsible for establishing and operating the wind power projects under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model. The arrangement will require the successful bidders to develop the projects, own the associated assets, and supply electricity to TGDISCOMs under the terms of the agreement.

Under the proposed arrangement, the selected developers will enter into a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with TGDISCOMs. The long-term agreement is expected to provide a framework for supplying renewable electricity from the selected wind power projects. The projects will be developed in accordance with the technical, commercial, and other requirements specified in the tender document.

The RfS document carries a non-refundable fee of ₹50,000, along with applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST). Interested bidders must pay the prescribed fee and submit their proposals through the ISN-ETS electronic tender portal, following the procedures and conditions outlined in the tender documents.

The tender also specifies financial requirements for participating developers. Bidders are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹13,68,000 per MW per project. The EMD can be provided through a Bank Guarantee, Payment on Order Instrument (POI), or Insurance Surety Bond. The instrument must remain valid for 12 months from the last date of bid submission.

In addition to the EMD, successful bidders must furnish a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) of ₹34,20,000 per MW per project before signing the PPA. The PBG must remain valid until 12 months after the Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD), as specified in the tender conditions. These financial provisions are intended to ensure compliance with the developers’ contractual obligations during project implementation and power supply.

TGREDCO has stated that the bid submission deadlines will be as specified in the Notice Inviting Tender (NIT), available on the ISN-ETS portal and the corporation’s official website. Prospective bidders are required to review the complete RfS document, including eligibility criteria, submission procedures, and contractual requirements, before submitting their proposals.

The 800 MW procurement provides an opportunity for wind power developers to participate in Telangana’s renewable energy procurement programme while securing a long-term power supply arrangement through a 25-year PPA.
