105 kW Solar Power Plant to be Set Up at Civil Hospital Sangrur

Setting up of 105 Kilowatt solar power plant at Civil Hospital Sangrur is currently underway. To set the process in motion, a MoU was inked by Deputy Commissioner Sangrur, Ghanshyam Thori on behalf of the State Government with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Northern Region Pipelines). 

Post discussion with Deputy commissioner, and several officers of the state government with Indian Oil executive director Vipan Chandra, a deal was inked to provide Rs 50 lakh under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in connection with 105 kW plant.

The Deputy Commissioner believes this initiative will help reduce power bills besides saving the government funds using solar energy. The rooftop solar plant to be set up at the top of the Civil Hospital Sangrur will provide power to the main building of the hospital, nursing college and tubewell. The PWD would be the nodal agency for the project, according to a news media report.
