India continues to pump in more funds into solar energy projects over coal-fired generation in the recent past. Issuance of this tender makes it to the eight wave of photovoltaic capacity offered by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The tender invites bid pitches from companies up to 300 MW solar power generation capacity, per project. Successful bidders will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI at a maximum price of $0.039/kWh. The tender further states that the projects can take the form of single sites or be aggregated from blocks of generation capacity within a single state.
This move is intended by SECI to sell clean electricity to state utilities. Deadline for proposals is February 4, 2020.
