MAPEI Signs Solar Lease With Yellow Door Energy

Mapei Construction Chemicals with Yellow Door Energy to install around 2200 solar panels at Mapei’s manufacturing plant, Dubai Investment Park. The capacity of the solar plant is 1.2 MW which will generate 1,922,000 kw/h of clean energy in the initial year of operation.

Mapei Group is a leading Italian manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, and chemical products for the construction industry. Mapei Construction Chemicals is a subsidiary of Mapei Group.

The installation of solar panels will start early next year. The plant will cover an area of 8900 sq m and will reduce the electricity costs of the company and carbon emissions by 800 tonnes.

As the solar lease provider, Yellow Door Energy is responsible for financing, designing, building, commissioning, operating and maintaining the solar plant for the duration of the agreement. By working with solar developers, building owners can reduce their energy costs without any upfront investment or operational risk, while maintaining focus on their core business and enjoying the benefits of clean energy.
