
The government of UAE and India with business leaders organises several meetings to discuss energy transition opportunities and also industrial growth.
Recently, UAE Climate Envoy and Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of UAE, Dr Sultan Al Jaber visited New Delhi and met Union Environment Minister of India, Bhupender Yadav.
Both ministers discussed issues pertaining to climate change, hosting COP 28, etc. Before this meeting, an agreement on climate action was signed by the two ministers.
The bilateral cooperation includes climate action, implementation of the Paris agreement, the public private partnership in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and others.
India plans to have 450 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030 and this also aligns with UAE’s goals to have low and zero-carbon energy capabilities.
The UAE Minister also met Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. UAE and India will further explore ways to strengthen cooperation on climate action.
