Tata Power Solar, India’s largest integrated company and wholly-owned subsidiary to Tata Power, has commissioned an EPC project for Vibrant Energy. It is a project of 66 MW.
The project will generate 110,029 units annually. The installation will result in a reduction in carbon emissions of as high as 9 lakh tonnes. The installation covers 191 acres and includes 1,27,268 solar panels. It was completed in record time of nine months.
Vibrant Energy and Tata Power Solar share the vision to create innovative renewable energy solutions for the country. Tata Power Solar devised a unique execution plan, deploying multiple teams to ensure the smooth operation and commissioning at all levels. To ensure structural stability for the entire EHV (Extra High Voltage), system, the team created a Pooling Sub-Station on two levels.
To avoid any delays due to multiple shifting, materials were unloaded directly at the workplace. This allowed for immediate regularization and prevented delay. Before modules were commissioned, insurance was also done.
Commenting on the project commissioning Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, said, “We consider the commissioning of this large EPC project for Vibrant Energy to be a significant accomplishment since it demonstrates our best-in-class project execution capabilities. We are sure that this project would set a new standard for industry collaboration and contribute towards India’s clean energy goals.”
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Ashish Khanna, President – Renewables, Tata Power, said, “We are proud of the partnership with Vibrant Energy, it showcases the industry’s trust in us and our expertise of on-time project delivery. It also reinforces Tata Power Solar’s commitment to lead India’s transition towards a greener future through a strategic approach and operational excellence.”
With the commissioning of this project, the company’s total utility-scale solar project portfolio touches 9.7 GWp.
