Whetstone Power and Rosemawr Sustainable Infrastructure Management, the sustainable infrastructure arm of Rosemawr Management, recently announced the purchase of a 30MW-ac solar power generation plant in Alamosa Colorado.
Public Service Company of Colorado (a subsidiary of Xcel Energy) currently has full contract for the facility’s output. Whetstone Power Operations will provide operations, maintenance, and asset management services to the facility. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Whetstone. Rosemawr and Whetstone plan to renovate the facility over the long term by replacing the high-concentrating systems with standard photovoltaic systems. This system may also include energy storage. Much of the existing infrastructure will be preserved as part of the modification to the facility.
“We consider this a great asset and together with Rosemawr we are proud to continue serving the City and County of Alamosa and the San Luis Valley and the state of Colorado for many years to come with clean, renewable energy,” stated Whetstone, founding partner, Collin Franceschi.
“Rosemawr has a commitment to renewable energy and we are excited about this facility’s potential as well as our ongoing partnership with Whetstone,” said Josh Herlands (Managing Partner, Rosemawr Sustainable Infrastructure Management).
FTI Capital Advisors was the sell-side advisor for the project.
