SJVN Bags 83 MW Floating Solar Project in Madhya Pradesh

SJVN has baged 83 MW Floating Solar Project in Madhya Pradesh, informed Sh Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN.

The Project was secured on a Build Own and Operate (e-RA), organized by REWA Ultra Solar Limited (RUMSL).

The estimated cost to develop the Floating Solar project will be Rs 585 Crores. The project will produce 187 million units in its first year and 4410 million over the next 25 years. This Project will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 2,16,074 tonnes over 25 years. SJVN will implement this Project, along with other Renewable Projects in the 4090.5 MW range through its wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited.

RUMSL and SJVN will sign a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a period of 25 years. The project will be commissioned over next 21 months from the date of signing PPA. Sh. Nand Lal Sharma stated that “This is our second Floating Solar Project, bagged through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding Process From RUMSL. SJVN is is currently developing a floating Solar Project of 90 MW in Madhya Pradesh.

SJVN is undergoing rapid expansion and capacity enhancement. The company’s current portfolio is around 42,000 MW. It is moving forward to reach its Shared Vision of 5000 MW by 2023 and 25000 MW by 2030 and 50000 MW capacity will be achieved by 2040.
