Adani Group plans to develop 15GW of renewable energy in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh in the coming years, according to Karan Adani, son of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani.
This announcement was made at a recent investors summit ‘Global Investors Summit 2023’ held in the state, where Andhra Pradesh showcased its abundant natural resources and investment opportunities in infrastructure, land bank, and regulations.
The state has a potential of setting up 38GW in solar and 44GW in wind power, with renewable energy already accounting for one-third of the total installed capacity.
The government has also identified locations for pumped hydro storage power projects and plans to create the world’s largest integrated renewable energy storage project with an installed capacity of 4,230 MW and a storage capacity of 10 GWh.
The Adani Group has also committed to developing a 400MW data center project in Visakhapatnam.
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, had also announced at the Global Investors Summit 2023 that his company will invest in a 10 GW of clean energy project in Andhra Pradesh.
