In a landmark move towards sustainable energy, Kuantan City Council (MBK) has signed a Supply Agreement of Renewable Energy (SARE) with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and GSPARX at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Kuantan. The ceremony was witnessed by the Mayor, YH. Dato’ Hamdan Bin Hussin, DSAP., DIMP., SAP., AAP., AMP., and also attended by En Elmie Fairul Mashuri, Managing Director of GSPARX, and En Ahmad Tarmizi Mohd, Head of Procurement and Business Continuity.
The signing of the agreement marks a significant milestone in the long-term effort to preserve the environment through green energy generation. This forward-thinking decision by the Kuantan City Council considers the needs of future generations for environmentally friendly energy. With the support of TNB and GSPARX, the council is taking a big step towards creating a sustainable future for the city.
The SARE will allow the city to tap into renewable energy sources and reduce its carbon footprint. This will be achieved through the installation of solar panels at various locations throughout the city, generating clean and renewable energy. The move towards green energy will not only reduce the environmental impact of the city’s energy consumption but also provide economic benefits to the local community.
The signing of the SARE is a significant milestone for Kuantan City Council, TNB, and GSPARX, and it is hoped that this partnership will pave the way for other cities in Malaysia to follow suit.
