DEWA Completes 676 Distribution Substations In The First Half Of 2023 Across Dubai

In the first half of 2023, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) successfully deployed 676 11kV distribution substations across Dubai. These substations were constructed with utmost quality and efficiency, requiring a total of 505,684 man-hours and creating job opportunities for new customers.

DEWA’s commitment to providing advanced and integrated electricity and water infrastructure aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The expansion plans are strategically designed to cater to the growing demand in Dubai until 2030, taking into account demographic and economic growth in the Emirate.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, emphasized the organization’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of availability, reliability, efficiency, and safety in delivering electricity and water services. Notably, DEWA has achieved remarkable success in reducing Customer Minutes Lost (CML) in Dubai, boasting one of the lowest rates worldwide.

Rashid Bin Humaidan, Executive Vice President of Distribution Power at DEWA, highlighted the significant number of substations in service, further enhancing the reliability and availability of DEWA’s transmission lines. The authority continues to prioritize safety and environmental standards while executing its expansion plans.
