Global renewable energy developer, service provider, and solar distributor BayWa r.e. has unveiled a transformative dual announcement, signaling its unwavering commitment to Australia’s sustainable energy landscape. The company has successfully divested its pioneering Karadoc solar farm while forging a strategic alliance with Atmos Renewables (Atmos) for an ambitious wind energy initiative. This heralds a crucial step in BayWa r.e.’s Australian renewable energy journey, with proceeds from the sale and investments boosting their 5GW pipeline in the nation’s renewables sector.

BayWa r.e.’s foray into Australia’s energy market was highlighted by the establishment of the Karadoc solar farm. The solar farm stands as one of Australia National Electricity Market (NEM)’s largest operating solar projects in terms of capacity. Stationed approximately 25 km south of Mildura, Victoria, the solar farm encompasses a capacity of 112.5 MWp and commenced operations in 2019. Boasting a sprawling expanse of over 346,000 solar panels, the facility generates ample energy to power 47,000 households.
