In a significant development towards revolutionizing India’s energy sector, Gautam Solar has achieved a remarkable feat by supplying 60 MW of cutting-edge solar panels for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Yojana. These solar panels, manufactured indigenously by Gautam Solar, are equipped with advanced features aimed at maximizing energy generation efficiency.
Gautam Solar’s 10BB Mono PERC Solar Panels stand out for their innovative design, incorporating larger M10 cells to enhance power generation, multi-busbar technology to minimize electrical losses, and round ribbon connectors to optimize light utilization.
Expressing his views on this achievement, Gautam Mohanka, Managing Director of Gautam Solar Private Limited, emphasized the company’s pivotal role in supporting India’s energy transition objectives. Mohanka highlighted the importance of developing a domestic supply chain for renewable energy to meet the country’s growing energy demands and achieve sustainable development goals.
In September last year, Gautam Solar announced its ambitious plans to significantly boost the energy transition and support the country’s sustainable growth. The renowned leader in solar module manufacturing revealed its intention to expand its annual manufacturing capacity to 2 GW. This substantial expansion, projected to be accomplished by the end of the calendar year 2024, reflects Gautam Solar’s commitment to driving renewable energy adoption in India. In order to facilitate this extensive growth initiative in a systematic and timely manner, Gautam Solar disclosed plans to invest approximately Rs 150 crores in its manufacturing setup throughout the year.
The PM-KUSUM Yojana, a flagship initiative of the government, has been instrumental in promoting sustainability in agriculture by utilizing barren and cultivated lands for solar power generation. This initiative has particularly benefited farmers in regions with unreliable or nonexistent grid electricity, contributing to the country’s broader sustainability targets.
Overall, Gautam Solar’s contribution to the PM-KUSUM Yojana marks a significant step forward in India’s journey towards a more sustainable and energy-independent future.
