Unipac, a subsidiary of the Jacto Group, unveils the launch of the Hydrelio® plastic float in collaboration with the KWPar Group. These advanced plastic structures, developed under the intellectual property of French company Ciel & Terre International, utilize state-of-the-art technology to support photovoltaic panels on water surfaces, promoting the generation of clean and renewable energy.

Gabriel Gonçalves, President of Unipac, expresses that “this initiative underscores our dedication to sustainability and our pursuit of innovative solutions that positively impact both the environment and society. We are enthusiastic about this new product and our strategic partnership with Ciel & Terre International and the KWPar Group.”

Fostering Sustainable Partnerships:

The introduction of Flotuador, in collaboration with the KWPar Group, marks a significant stride toward a more sustainable future. The KWPar Group oversees the engineering, customization, and installation of this technology in Brazil, including the recently inaugurated Floating Photovoltaic Plant (UFF Araucária) at the Billings Reservoir in São Paulo, developed in partnership with EMAE (Empresa Metropolitana de Águas e Energia) and the São Paulo Government. Ediléu Cardoso Jr., CEO of the KWPar Group, underscores the meticulous selection of Unipac as a partner, citing its credibility, technical expertise, and transparency.

Meanwhile, Ciel & Terre, a global leader in floating solar plant implementation, has held the patented Hydrelio® technology since 2011, with installations worldwide. Unipac, licensed as the national manufacturer of the Float product, stands poised to venture into new frontiers in sustainability and innovation alongside these esteemed partners.

Driving Sustainable Innovation and Practical Applications:

The Hydrelio® plastic float emerges as a groundbreaking solution in renewable energy, purposefully crafted to support photovoltaic panels in various water bodies such as reservoirs, lakes, and dams. Moreover, its applications extend across multiple sectors, including energy, sanitation, and agribusiness, with potential installations in irrigation dams on agricultural estates.

Each project leverages the expertise of the KWPar Group. In Brazil, the technology has already been deployed in several endeavors, including Fazenda Figueiredo in 2018, a pilot project at UHE Sobradinho/BA in 2019, and a pilot initiative at EMAE, culminating in the establishment of UFF Araucária in 2024. These endeavors underscore a commitment to adopting sustainable practices and diversifying energy sources.
