Bluebolt Outdoor LLC, a subsidiary of Blue Outdoor, has partnered with California State University – Dominguez Hills and its sustainability unit to deploy solar-powered benches across the campus. Offered to the university free of charge, these benches provide students, faculty, and visitors with convenient seating equipped with device-charging capabilities, all powered by solar energy. This initiative reflects the increasing trend of universities adopting cost-effective sustainability practices.

“The Bench” functions entirely off-grid, drawing power from solar energy stored in a lithium battery contained within the unit. This setup enables device charging and supplementary campus lighting during the evening, with sufficient stored power to last up to five days. Additionally, each bench includes two backlit advertising panels, providing strategic partners with an opportunity to engage with students and faculty. Bluebolt oversees all aspects of the program, including advertising sales within University-approved categories, enabling additional revenue generation while offering solar benches free of charge to the campus community.
