AFRY Chosen as Owner’s Engineer for 65MWp Solar PV Project in Bacolod, Philippines

In a significant development for renewable energy initiatives in the Philippines, Amatera Renewable Energy Corporation (ARECO) has selected AFRY as the owner’s engineer for the construction of a 65MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Bacolod. This project, named The Vista Alegre, aims to provide clean energy to the City of Bacolod, marking a milestone in the region’s sustainability efforts.

ARECO, a Philippine-based company, is spearheading this utility-scale solar power venture, supported by B.Grimm Solar Power Inc., a subsidiary of B.Grimm Power, a prominent energy player in Thailand dedicated to sustainable growth in Southeast Asia.

Under the partnership, AFRY will oversee comprehensive services for the solar PV installation, encompassing the interconnection facility up to the 69kV Bacolod substation. Their responsibilities include project management assistance, design review, and monitoring during the construction and commissioning phases.

Petteri Härkki, AFRY’s Regional Director for Asia, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing the potential of this project to advance the Philippines’ renewable energy objectives and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. With AFRY’s extensive expertise demonstrated through over 500 solar power projects across 80 nations, boasting a collective capacity exceeding 90 GW, they aim to deliver significant value to initiatives like The Vista Alegre.
