The National Energy Commission (CNE) of the Dominican Republic has officially granted the definitive concession for the “Santa Clara Energy Group Photovoltaic Installation” project. With a capacity of 84 MWp (67.70 MWn), the project will be situated in Santa Cruz, within the Pedro Brand municipality of the Santo Domingo province. Additionally, it will feature a storage capacity of 20.03 MW and 80.12 MWh.

The contract was formalized through a signing ceremony between Edward Veras Dรญaz, Executive Director of the National Energy Commission, and Marco Antonio Gonzalez Soto, representative of Santa Clara Energy Group.

This concession marks a significant development in the Dominican Republic’s renewable energy landscape, with over 600 MW awarded in photovoltaic projects receiving definitive concessions from the CNE in 2023 alone. Over the past three years, the country has witnessed investments exceeding $1.1 billion in renewable energy initiatives, aligning with a national strategy aimed at achieving a 30% share of renewables in the energy matrix by 2030
