Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd (MSPGCL) recently sought approval to transfer a 100 MW cumulative capacity of grid interactive solar PV power projects to be developed at various locations in Western and North Maharashtra. This was part of the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana, which was previously approved by the Commission in a May 2020 order and awarded to MAHAPREIT by EESL.

MSPGCL filed the petition on June 13, 2023, to transfer the projects to MAHAPREIT. However, on June 12, 2024, MSPGCL submitted an affidavit stating that MSEDCL had terminated the Power Supply Agreement (PSA) for these projects. MSEDCL explained that MSEB Holding Co. Ltd. had created a new entity, MSEB Solar Agro Power Ltd (MSAPL), to handle the implementation of the MSKVY 2.0 scheme. MSAPL will now manage all activities related to this scheme, including the solarization of all AG dominated substations, which includes those covered by the current PSA.

Due to the termination of the PSA and the inclusion of these substations in the MSKVY 2.0 scheme, MSPGCL can no longer advance with the project. As a result, MSPGCL requested permission to withdraw the petition. The Commission reviewed the situation and agreed to allow MSPGCL to withdraw the petition. Consequently, the petition has been officially disposed of as withdrawn.
