JSW Neo Energy Secures 230 MW ISTS-Connected Renewable Energy Project from SECI

JSW Neo Energy Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has been awarded a significant contract by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the supply of 230 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE). This award is part of SECI’s competitive bidding process for a total of 630 MW of firm and dispatchable power from ISTS-connected renewable energy projects (SECI-FDRE-IV).

With this new capacity, JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity now stands at 16.4 GW. This includes 2.3 GW of hybrid capacity, which encompasses the recently awarded FDRE project. The company is on track to achieve an installed generation capacity of 10 GW by FY25, up from the current 7.5 GW. This expansion marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to enhance its energy solutions and transition towards becoming a comprehensive energy products and services provider.

Currently, JSW Energy’s locked-in generation capacity includes 7.5 GW operational, 2.3 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro projects, and a renewable energy (RE) pipeline of 6.6 GW, with power purchase agreements (PPAs) signed for 2.0 GW. Additionally, the company has secured 4.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.

Looking ahead, JSW Energy aims to achieve 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. The company has also set an ambitious goal of reaching Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
