Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has announced the request for selection (RfS) to select a Project Developer for a new solar project. This project involves setting up a 1,998 kW grid-connected, ground-based Solar PV power plant at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur’s Mihan Campus in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The selected Project Developer will be responsible for a range of tasks. These include designing, engineering, supplying, constructing, erecting, testing, and commissioning the solar power project. In addition to these initial responsibilities, the developer will also manage the comprehensive operation and maintenance of the Solar PV power plant for five years.
The project will follow the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode, also known as Capex mode, where the developer handles both the setup and maintenance of the plant. SECI has indicated that the tender details will be issued soon, following the specific requirements of the client organization.
This project is part of SECIโs ongoing efforts to expand solar energy capacity across India, supporting the country’s renewable energy goals. The initiative at IIM Nagpur reflects the growing integration of solar power in educational institutions and other key infrastructures.
