MSpectrum Inc., the solar subsidiary of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has entered a strategic partnership with Excelitas Technologies Philippines, Inc., the local unit of the US-based Excelitas Technologies Corporation, for a solar energy project in Cabuyao, Laguna.

Under the agreement, MSpectrum will install a 116 kilowatt-peak (kWp) solar facility at Excelitasโ€™ manufacturing facility. The project is slated for completion by December 2024 and is expected to generate approximately 165,998 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy annually.

This initiative will enable Excelitas to reduce its carbon footprint by an estimated 751 metric tons each year, equivalent to planting over 5,430 trees or cutting down vehicle travel by more than 470,000 kilometers annually.

Excelitas Technologies Philippines’ Senior Director of Operations, Ike Sonoy, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, โ€œPartnering with MSpectrum is a step in the right direction for Excelitas as we harness the benefits of renewable energy.
