In a recent initiative under Special Campaign 4.0, the CGST Faridabad Commissionerate, part of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), installed ten sensor-based solar lights at the athletics stadium in Ratta Kalan village, Mahendergarh, Haryana. The project aims to support athletes by providing lighting beyond daylight hours, allowing for practice sessions that extend into the evening. These solar lights, designed to activate in the dark, include battery backups that can last up to 16 hours, ensuring reliable illumination.
This effort is part of a broader citizen-centric approach by the CGST Faridabad Commissionerate, with funding from Swachhta Funds. It aligns with national initiatives like Swachh Bharat and Khelo India and aligns with the Prime Ministerโs vision of promoting solar energy. Beyond the stadium lighting, the Commissionerate has undertaken additional improvements at the local Government Senior Secondary School. Enhancements include the renovation of the girlsโ toilet, the installation of a water cooler with an RO facility and ceiling fans, and the provision of rugs for students.
The solar light project was inaugurated virtually by Shri Manoj Kumar Shrivastava, Chief Commissioner of the CGST & CX Panchkula Zone, along with Shri Reyaz Ahmad, Commissioner of CGST Faridabad, and other senior officials. Local leaders, including Sarpanch Smt. Rajni Devi and village representatives also attended. This initiative underscores CBICโs commitment to sustainable development and community support, benefiting both local athletes and students.
