Coal India Invites Tender for 40 MW Solar PV Project in Madhya Pradesh with 10-Year O&M

Coal India Limited has issued an online invitation for tenders via the official website for a comprehensive solar project. Eligible bidders with Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) are invited to participate in the bidding process for the design, engineering, procurement, and installation of a 40 MW (AC) grid-connected ground-mounted solar PV power plant at Johilla, Umaria, Madhya Pradesh. The project also includes a 10-year operation and maintenance (O&M) period following commissioning.

Project Scope

The scope of work encompasses various phases, including:

  • Design, Procurement, and Supply: The project requires sourcing, testing, and transporting photovoltaic (PV) modules with a capacity of 56 MWp for a 1500V system voltage, including DC overloading and necessary spares.
  • Transmission Infrastructure: Erection and commissioning of a 132 kV, 20 km transmission system from the project site to the Birsinghpur Pali Substation.
  • Construction and Civil Works: Site preparation, including earthwork, internal roads, stormwater drainage, and fire protection systems, among other civil requirements.
  • Electrical Systems: Installation of power conditioning systems, inverters, circuit breakers, transformers, and all required electrical components for integration with the transmission line.
  • Performance and Compliance: The project includes setting up demonstration performance metrics, obtaining necessary regulatory approvals, and ensuring compliance for sustainable operation.

Project Requirements

The plant is expected to achieve a Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of at least 23.54% at the delivery point, with an initial-year minimum net electrical energy generation guarantee (NEEGG) of 82.48 million units. The project is structured as a “Single Stage Two-Part” online bidding system, with the scheduled completion time set at 12 months and an additional O&M contract of 10 years post-commissioning.
