The UAE has announced plans to allocate up to AED 200 billion toward sustainable energy initiatives over the next six years, as part of an ambitious drive to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. The investment strategy was highlighted today by Suhail Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, during the launch of ADIPEC 2024.

Minister Al Mazrouei emphasized the UAEโ€™s ongoing efforts to diversify its energy sources and lower carbon intensity in its oil and gas sector by an additional 25% within the next decade. โ€œOur commitment to clean energy aligns with our strategy to decarbonize the economy and reduce emissions,โ€ he stated.

The minister noted that the UAE is positioning itself as a global model for practical and ambitious energy transition, balancing current global energy demands with significant investments in clean energy for the future. โ€œWe have multiple clean energy projects already in operation and more under development,โ€ he added, underscoring the UAEโ€™s proactive approach to a sustainable energy future.
